Our take
I've been using the ASUS VG279Q for a few weeks, and it's a great 1080p gaming monitor. The 144Hz refresh rate is buttery smooth, and the 1ms response time minimizes ghosting. The IPS panel provides excellent color reproduction and wide viewing angles, a big step up from TN panels. Adaptive-Sync works flawlessly with my AMD GPU. However, the 1080p resolution on a 27-inch screen means pixel density isn't the highest, so text isn't super sharp. The stand is sturdy but only offers tilt. For $119.99, it's hard to beat for competitive games like Overwatch or Call of Duty.
